Not received January 6, 2009 I never received this item from Amazon/Ritz Camera. I had to send 2 emails to even get an answer from Ritz, which was that it was not in stock. This happened 1 week before Christmas, and it was the top of my Grandson's wish list. Fortunately, I was able to find it elsewhere on line, and paid a fortune to have it delivered by Christmas. My Grandson loves it. Recently, Ritz Camera called me to offer me a $15 gift certificate for my trouble, I told them thanks, but no thanks. Then they tried to persuade me to remove my reviews of them from Amazon's website. Not happening, what I said was true.
Awesome for Gaming January 6, 2009 Works great for my World of Warcraft game time. I should have had this key board a long time ago! It is easier to make all of the moves that I need to make and do all of the things that I need to do. I have lots of extras with this keyboard that i don't have on a regular keyboard. It is awesome - every warcrafter should have one.
wow keyboard December 16, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
the thing that bothered me the most was the fact they did not say you had to buy another part to make it work.
Great Idea, poor execution, NO MAC SUPPORT December 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First and Foremost *NO Macintosh Drivers!!!* It is bad enough not having Mac drivers, but then to omit that information so unsuspecting buyers, get caught... Disgraceful!
On a PC... System hangs at boot. I keep two keyboards on this system (waste of valuable desk space). I usually end up unplugging the zboard when I boot and use the other board. Once I log into system I can then connect zboard. I am always checking for updated drivers, but this issue never goes away. I've had boot hang on multiple systems and OS versions including... Dell Optiplex, Lenovo laptop T60p laptop as well as Asus based homebuilt system running XP, Vista and Vista-64.
USB power issue, I don't seem to be able to use USB ports on zboard as I get out of power errors in OS. Not an issue with my Dell USB keyboard.
I do like the key layout, especially with WoW insert. Key touch is good. It runs fine when in-game. Something actually worked in Vista-64 :-)
Conclusion, this wasn't my worst PC experience, but it was very disappointing. It has some potential, but buyer be ware. I like it well enough to keep it on my desktop and do swap out.
Ideazon, if you are reading... You would get 5 star, If you fix the Boot and USB with board running on my Macintosh!!!
Good keyboard, but not a big deal. October 30, 2008 I've had this keyboard for a while now. The keyboard itself was a gift - the keyset I bought here on Amazon. It seems like a great idea, but the most useful feature has been the two USB ports built into it. The keyset itself is for the most part a standard keyboard layout with a few labels for Everquest II (EQ2). The dedicated keys are all the same as hot-buttons already available on a standard keyboard or just a couple of clicks away on the in-game user interface. The one I've used most often is the Screenshot key.
The media player keys seem like a great idea too, but they only work with Windows Media Player, which I don't use.
I can't find anything wrong with the keyboard or the keyset at all - It's simply not all that useful. It certainly hasn't improved my game or made gameplay any easier. My overall impression is that it's just not worth replacing a standard keyboard for the very limited benefit of this specialized one.
This is just going to end up collecting dust. Maybe it's more useful in other games.
