1 out of 5 stars OK Card, but doesn't work with Flight Simulator   August 16, 2008
This card has performed OK for me in other areas, but it will NOT work with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 or FSX. It doesn't just not work; it actually causes your computer to spontaneously reboot, so you not only can't play but you lose a lot of time trying to figure out the problem. However, as long as you don't go into Flight Simulator, it seems to work fine. I suspect it is incompatible with the later versions of DirectX.

2 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Flight Simulator X   April 2, 2008

The sound card was not compatible with Flight Simulator X and caused it to lock up even without the gameport being used. The game port was not recognized by Win XP and there were no instructions on how to configure the gameport. In fact the product specs didn't even mention that the game port was there. Overall a disappointing product.

1 out of 5 stars Diamond XTREME JUNK!   February 6, 2008

I am in full agreement of the first review! No amount of coaxing has worked for installing the 16-bit card, so I bought the 24-bit card, same thing! I emailed and called costumer support, however there is no support. No return emails, nobody is ever available by phone. Stay away, do not buy, be warned! You get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 stars Good sound card for the money   December 11, 2007

You can't loose with this sound card if all you want to do is upgrade what you would find on a typical motherboard. Nothing fancy, just noticeably better and at a good price.

4 out of 5 stars Easy to install and good sound   March 19, 2007

I ordered this card to put in my mother's computer. She needed a basic card for listening to online music and such - nothing fancy - and this fit the bill. Install was a snap and took perhaps 10 minutes. I encountered no problems with drivers on XP and she was back up and happily listening to music within 15 minutes. Perhaps not the card for a picky audiophile, but great as a no-frills, good quality card which delivers surprisingly good sound for such little money.
